Here is the Lamsa translation of 91st Psalm:
"He who dwells in the protection of the most High shall abide under
the
shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God;
in
him will I trust.
3. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and
from
vain gossip.
4. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you
shall
trust; his truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5. You shall not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for arrow
that
flies by day,
6. Nor for the conspiracy that spreads in darkness; nor for the
pestilence that wastes at noonday.
7. Thousands shall fall at your side and ten thousand at your right
hand, but it shall not come near you.
8. Only with your eyes shall you behold the reward of the wicked.
9. For thou, O Lord, art my trust; thou hast established thy
habitation
in the highest.
10. There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come
near
your dwelling.
11. For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all
your
ways.
12. They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot
against a stone.
13. You shall tread upon the viper and adder; you shall trample under
foot the lion and the great serpent.
14. Because he has loved me, therefore will I deliver him; I will
set
him on high because he has known my name.
15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him
in
trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

Wed, July 20, 2005 - 11:37 PMThis sacred piece of writing, so beloved by the three Abrahamic religions, contains everything you need to know about them and about God in summary.
Look at this quote:
"Because he has loved me, therefore will I deliver him; I will
set
him on high because he has known my name.
15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him
in
trouble; I will deliver him and honor him."
This is God-G-d-Allah saying that he will protect those who put their attention on him unconditionally. It is not the Lord of vengeance and war, but of love, peace and safety from harm.
These high words have inspired millions for thousands of lifetimes. I post them here out of reverence for the grand tradition they signifiy, and their intrinsic beauty and loveliness.
Read and enjoy! :-)
