Religion for the Non-Religiouspublic - created 06/08/05 |
|
- Christian teachings for Non-Christians.
- Hindu teachings for Non-Hindus.
- Buddhist teachings for Non-Buddhists.
- Muslim teachings for Non-Muslims
- Indigenous spirituality is okay, but the focus of this tribe is on the Great Religious Pathways, and how they can be of benefit.
- Confucian and Taoist traditions are welcome only when placed in their cultural context to ensure relevance and usefulness.
- The specific teachings of Lords Krishna, Buddha and Jesus are most welcome!
- Historical, social, and spiritual context and commentary on the great religions is excellent.
- Open, vague, uninformed, erudite, incomplete or just plain personal questions are welcome. It seems to me the great religious paths provide powerful support and inspiration in daily life, which this tribe intentionally delivers.
What this tribe is not:
- This is not a new age fluff tribe, nor a place to argue or troll regarding doctrine.
- A place to stop off uninformed opinions ("I-statements).
- A place to give opinions as if they are facts will be moderated: instead of saying that "X is good", you might say "X seems ineffective [or whatever]".
- A place to cut and paste slabs of doctrine; instead, compress into a few sentences and give your understanding of what a thing says.
